Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement; |
|
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
|
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
|
(d) |
To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and |
|
(e) |
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions. |
|
|
|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A relevant recognised degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; |
|
(b) |
At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and / or industry experience; |
|
(c) |
For the Mathematics specialism: |
|
|
(i) |
Good knowledge in discrete mathematics and statistics; |
|
|
(ii) |
Familiar with DSE Mathematics, Math Extended Part Module 1 and Math Extended Part Module 2; |
|
|
(iii) |
Preferably with knowledge and experience in teaching mathematics at QF Level 3 and / or 4; |
|
(d) |
For the Information and Communications Technology specialism: |
|
|
(i) |
Good knowledge in computer network, Kubernetes, DevOps, Python / Java programming, web and android development, in AI, IoT, big data, SAP, and / or Discrete Mathematics and Statistics; |
|
|
(ii) |
Preferably with knowledge and experience in design and implementation of computer networks (with CCNA Certificates is advance), software development on multiplatform, AI, IoT or big data application development, application development on cloud; |
|
(e) |
Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; |
|
(f) |
Good records of linkage with industry / professional bodies or with solid industrial experience would be an advantage; and |
|
(g) |
Preferred Putonghua Proficiency: |
|
|
(i) |
Mother tongue / language is Putonghua; or |
|
|
(ii) |
Received a bachelor’s degree or above of which the medium of instruction is Putonghua; or |
|
|
(iii) |
Have at least 3 years’ work experience in the Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or |
|
|
(iv) |
Attainment of Grade 3B or above at the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work. |

|
Notes: |
|
(1) |
Applicants with less relevant experience and / or qualification may be considered for the post of Part-time (Daytime) Assistant Lecturer, at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. |
|
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |

(3) |
Shortlisted candidate will be required to take a written assessment. |
|
(4) |
The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned. |
