Major Duties : |
|
(a) |
To provide practical and teaching support in food science laboratories; |
|
(b) |
To participate in functions and projects of the section, including but not limited to: |
|
|
(i) |
planning of the resources required for daily practical laboratory; |
|
|
(ii) |
provision of logistics support to practical classes; |
|
|
(iii) |
procurement, receipt, storage and inventory control of consumables; |
|
|
(iv) |
preparation of culture media and related apparatus for practical classes; |
|
(c) |
To organise the sensory laboratory and experimental kitchen for practical classes and guests; |
|
(d) |
To provide support in the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of equipment / apparatus / software; and |
|
(e) |
To conduct and arrange microbiological testing and equipment calibration, maintain proper documentation and housekeeping to ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and / or HACCP system. |

|
Requirements : |
|
(a) |
A recognised diploma or higher certificate or equivalent in Food Science / Analytical Science / Biotechnology / Chemical Technology, or equivalent, and preferably with: |
|
|
(i) |
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate for Hygiene Supervisors or Basic Food Hygiene Certificate for Hygiene Managers; |
|
|
(ii) |
ISO 22000 Internal Auditor qualification; |
|
|
(iii) |
recognised degree in Food Science or relevant subjects or equivalent. |
|
(b) |
At least 2 years' relevant experience in laboratory tests; |
|
(c) |
Experience in sensory laboratory and hands-on knowledge and experience in ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and / or HACCP system would be an advantage; |
|
(d) |
Proficient command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and |
|
(e) |
Proficiency in basic computer applications. |

Notes : |
|
(1) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
|
(2) |
Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend a trade test. |
|
(3) |
The appointees may be required to perform shift duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned. |
