    Assistant Recruitment and Placement Officer
    Hotel and Tourism Institute / Chinese Culinary Institute / International Culinary Institute

    Major Duties:
    (a) To promote, oversee and execute student and community engagement activities such as Education & Career Expo, Skills Fiesta of VTC, Info Day, Campus Visit, Stakeholders’ Engagement Activities / Campaign, etc.;
    (b) To provide support in student recruitment through planning, executing and promotion activities, through online and offline platforms, including social media posts, production of print and electronic marketing collaterals and advertising materials, video-shooting projects, digital marketing, engagement events, website development and maintenance, etc.;
    (c) To promote programmes through media and industry partnership campaigns in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland and provide communications support such as drafting press releases, speeches for senior management, feature articles for newsletters and publications, digital contents, presentation materials, etc.;
    (d) To handle administrative duties and correspondence in relation to community and student outreach and recruitment such as preparation of programme information, statistical reports; and
    (e) To handle responsibilities concerning community and student outreach as assigned.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised higher diploma in relevant discipline, or equivalent; preferably with a relevant recognised degree;
    (b) At least 3 years’ relevant work and / or teaching experience, preferably in the hotel / catering industry;
    (c) Good experience in communications and promotion would be an added advantage;
    (d) Good knowledge in marketing and familiarity with utilising digital promotion tools, such as search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC), social media advertising (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Xiaohongshu, WeChat, etc.), web data analytics, mobile apps and multimedia tools for video editing and artwork creation (e.g. Canva, Adobe Photoshop, etc.);
    (e) Able to develop and deliver presentations;
    (f) Good proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably with knowledge of Putonghua;
    (g) Good interpersonal and communication skills;
    (h) Self-initiative and positive work attitude; and
    (i) Ability to pass a trade test.
       
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of “Instructor”.
    (2) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in the Requirement (a) above but possessing 8 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply.  Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
    (3) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (4) Work locations include Pokfulam, Kowloon Bay and Tin Shui Wai.
    (5) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
    (6) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
