    Term Executive Assistant II (Library Service)

    Major Duties:
    (a) To provide circulation counter services, lending the circulating items including portable computers, electronic devices; handling patrons with outstanding loans and charges;
    (b) To perform book shelving, shelf-reading, stocktaking exercise and weeding exercise;
    (c) To provide support in processing different types of materials, including books, periodicals and multi-media items;
    (d) To assist in graphic design and preparing posters and leaflet for library materials promotion;
    (e) To assist in managing social media marketing tools, such as Instagram, Facebook and YouTube to promote library collections, facilities, services and events;
    (f) To assist in organising library activities and leading library tours;
    (g) To assist in acquisition for monographs, non-print materials, e-resources materials, serials and other library materials;
    (h) To perform cataloguing of new books and audio-visual materials;
    (i) To assist in reviewing library collections and conducting periodical weeding exercise; and
    (j) To answer general enquiries and carry out general clerical duties.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) (i) Level 2 or above in 5 subjects, including English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination, or equivalent^; OR
      (ii) Level 2 / Grade E or above in 5 subjects including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE); OR
      (iii) Diploma of Applied Education + Maths Plus / Diploma Yi Jin + Mathematics / Project Yi Jin; OR
      (iv) A recognised Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate / Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR
      (v) A recognised Associate Degree / Higher Diploma or above.
    * Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2 / Passing 5 specific VTC’s Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification.
    ^ “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in HKDSE Examination are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects.
    (b) Proficiency in the use of computer software application, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing, preferably proficiency in video editing software and graphic design software;
    (c) Proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably with knowledge of Putonghua;
    (d) Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills;
    (e) Ability to work independently and be a good team player;
    (f) Good work initiative and customer-orientated; and
    (g) Possession of related library qualifications and work experience of Integrated Library System (ILS) e.g. Alma will be an advantage.
     
    Note:
    The appointee(s) will be required to work irregular hours or shifts and perform duties on Saturdays when necessary.
