Major Duties: |
(a) |
To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement; |
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
(c) |
To organise campus-wide extra-curricular language activities for students; |
(d) |
To coordinate and / or conduct language enhancement activities; |
(e) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; and |
(f) |
To participate in VTC-wide / departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to research studies, seminars and exhibitions. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
(i) |
A recognised degree in English Language / English Language and Literature / Language Studies (English) / Linguistics / Education (English) / English Communication / Translation (English); OR |
|
(ii) |
A recognised degree in a non-relevant field, AND a relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Education (major in English), Teaching English as a Second Language or Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL and English-teaching certification recognised by TESL Canada) or English for Specific Purposes (ESP). A transcript with course details including the number of hours of instruction and practicum should be provided for consideration; |
(b) |
A good understanding of IGCSE English syllabus and preferably also possess a good understanding of the IELTS English Language Test; |
(c) |
Good communication, interpersonal, organising and administrative skills; |
(d) |
Good problem solving and time management skills; and |
(e) |
A good team player but also be able to work on own initiatives and willing to meet challenges. |

(1) |
The post is at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. |
(2) |
Shortlisted applicants will be required to take a written assessment. |
(3) |
The work location will be Tsing Yi and / or Tiu Keng Leng. |
(4) |
The appointees may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and/or outside campus. |
(5) |
In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process. |
