    Manager
    Skills Competitions Office

    Major Duties:
    (a) To support the Senior Manager to oversee the operations of the SCO (Skills Competitions Office), and to carry out duties related to corporate level functions;
    (b) To assist in the planning, organisation and participation of skills competitions, including but not limited to WorldSkills Competition, WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition, Hong Kong Junior Skills Competition, Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao-Chengdu Youth Skills Competition, Greater Bay Area International Youth Skills Competition and related activities;
    (c) To assist in the liaison with industries and academic disciplines in the development and engagement of skills competitions;
    (d) To provide support and organise training for competition experts, interpreters and competitors, and facilitate communication, engagement and networking among the competition participants;
    (e) To assist in the planning and participation of the International Student Seminar organised by VTC and the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore and related activities;
    (f) To review and monitor the manpower and resources support to competitions and events;
    (g) To provide professional support to committees (including committee / working group / project related meetings);
    (h) To undertake administrative duties including finance, procurement and human resources; and
    (i) To lead a team of staff to ensure quality execution of duties.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree or equivalent;
    (b) At least 7 years’ relevant experience at supervisory / management level;
    (c) Good records in organisation and management of large-scale projects / events;
    (d) Good records in support of committee work;
    (e) Proven experience in planning as well as coordinating marketing and publicity activities;
    (f) Strong problem-solving and analytical capability;
    (g) Proactive attitude, strong initiative and the ability to work independently;
    (h) Strong leadership, organising and management abilities and willing to meet challenges and able to work under pressure; and
    (i) Strong communication skills with a high level of written and spoken language proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
       
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
    (3) The post is time-limited in nature up to 31 August 2027.
    (4) The appointee(s) may be required to work outside normal office hours and at different work locations as assigned.
