Major Duties: |
(a) |
The appointee(s) would take up duties in ONE of the following domains within the area of Digitalisation: |
|
(i) |
Smart Campus, IoT & AV Solutions Management |
|
|
- |
To support with team head to establish the objectives and strategies of digital initiatives and projects, focusing on Smart Campus, Smart Classroom, Meeting Room Modernisation and related systems design and development; and |
|
|
- |
To lead and deliver initiatives and projects by implementing smart technology, such as IoT, Audio Visual, Room Control, Facilities Booking and other digital solutions. |
|
|
|
|
(ii) |
AI for Teaching & Learning |
|
|
- |
To assist in the planning and enhancement of projects that support teaching and learning; |
|
|
- |
To lead the implementation of e-learning services, including e-assessment, Moodle, Panopto, and workplace learning assessments; |
|
|
- |
To develop and implement AI strategies and solutions to support teaching and learning activities for both staff and students; |
|
|
- |
To collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to integrate AI technologies into systems and processes; |
|
|
- |
To stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and apply relevant innovations to projects; |
|
|
- |
To supervise sub-teams to ensure ongoing support for e-learning systems and services; |
|
|
- |
To liaise with operational units and vendors on projects; and |
|
|
- |
To collaborate with vendors and users to develop and maintain websites. |
(b) |
To manage the projects, including but not limit to funding acquisition, tendering, feasibility study, budgeting, solution development and testing, vendor and contract management; |
(c) |
To collaborate with different stakeholders to collect user requirements, perform user journey analysis, consolidate user cases, identify pain-point and areas of improvement in user journey; and |
(d) |
To conduct market research and maintain good knowledge of the latest trends in education sector, digital solutions and materials and identify opportunities to apply these in the projects. |

|
Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised degree in IT or equivalent with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience; |
(b) |
Experience in IT project management will be an advantage; |
(c) |
Good supervisory skills, interpersonal skills and be a good team player; |
(d) |
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders; |
(e) |
Proficiency in English and Chinese; and |
(f) |
Applicants with knowledge, certifications and hands-on experience in any of the following aspects will be an advantage: |

(i) |
IoT / Smart Campus Solution / Smart Classroom Solution / Smart Building Solution; |

(ii) |
Facility Booking System / Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) / CCTV AI Camera / Digital Signage; |
|
(iii) |
A broad range of audiovisual (AV) technologies, including AV over IP, control system; and |
|
(iv) |
MQTT, Modbus TCP / RTU, LoRa, ZigBee, WiFi, Bluetooth and NB-IoT application implementation. |

For (ii) AI for Teaching & Learning |
|
(i) |
Managing the Learning Management System and E-Assessment solutions; |
|
(ii) |
Integrating AI solutions into existing systems to support teaching and learning; |
|
(iii) |
Developing and deploying AI agents to automate workflows and enhance operational efficiency; |
|
(iv) |
Enterprise AI platforms such as Azure Open AI, Dify, Copilot Studio, or Coze, etc; and |
|
(v) |
AI technologies for applications such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), document chunking and prompting skills. |

Notes: |
(1) |
The post is at the rank of “Senior Officer”. |
(2) |
Applicants with less relevant experience and / or qualification may be considered for the post of Assistant Systems Manager, at the rank of “Officer”. |
(3) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic/professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
(4) |
Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis. |
(5) |
Appointees may be posted to any operational units of the VTC, for example a campus / centre, to carry out similar duties and have different post titles which are subject to change at the Council’s discretion. |
