Major Duties: |
(a) |
To manage book budget and acquire LRC resources; |
(b) |
To manage serial collection and assist in e-learning support; |
(c) |
To catalogue and classify books and materials in printed and electronic formats, including original and copy cataloguing; |
(d) |
To provide reference services to LRC users; |
(e) |
To manage circulation and inter-library loan services; |
(f) |
To assist in delivery of LRC orientations and workshops; |
(g) |
To plan and administer LRC projects on maintenance and development; |
(h) |
To oversee operations of the technical or reader services of the LRC; |
(i) |
To manage, supervise and train a team of LRC supporting staff; and |
(j) |
To promote and implement the digital newspapers and magazines reading service in the LRC. |

Requirements: |
(a)
|
A recognised degree in Librarianship, or a relevant discipline; Associateship of the Library Association; Post-graduate Diploma in Librarianship; Master’s degree in Library Science; or equivalent |
(b)
|
At least 2 years’ experience in original and copy cataloguing, preferably with experience and knowledge of academic libraries, smart devices and e-library applications such as PressReader, HyRead and Flipster to promote and implement the digital newspapers and magazines reading service in libraries or educational institutions; |
(c) |
Good communication, interpersonal, administrative and organisation skills; and |
(d) |
Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English, preferably including Putonghua. |

Notes: |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
(2)

The appointee will be required to work irregular hours or shifts and perform duties on Saturdays or Sundays as necessary. |
(3)
|
The appointee will be required to oversee the operation of LRC in Youth Colleges (Kowloon Bay, Kwai Chung, Tin Shui Wai), Hotel and Tourism Institute / Chinese Culinary Institute / International Culinary Institute (Pokfulam). |
