The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi or Institute) offers 22 innovative degree programmes across our 6 Academic Departments, namely Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology, that are vocationally and professionally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and also accredited by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. THEi prepares Work Ready, Future Ready graduates through our strong applied degree and professional education programmes. All programmes require work integrated learning (WIL) and engage students inactive learning pedagogies including a strong focus on project-based learning involving real-world problem solving with and for local industries and professions. THEi partners closely with industry to provide intensive internship and project opportunities. Students also actively participate in knowledge exchange activities to develop professional insights. THEi is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation with a commitment to greening and sustainability.

Major Duties: |
|
The appointee shall report to the Head and provide support to School and the Institute in the development and implementation of enhancement strategies in English language teaching. The appointee will provide strong academic leadership in curriculum design and the formulation of effective learning and teaching strategies; produce teaching and learning materials, as well as other curriculum resources; teach and supervise student work; foster a culture of teamwork and lead the English language team as a Team Leader; participate in scholarly activities, including applied research and consultancy services. |

Requirements: |
|
The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in Language Education, English Language or Applied Linguistics or relevant disciplines, with native or native-like proficiency in English. Professional qualification in English Language teaching will be an advantage. Preference will be given to candidates with rich experience in developing learning and teaching materials (including English for professional purposes, self-access, and e-learning materials), and expertise in technology-enhanced learning. |

Candidates may be appointed on short-term or part-time terms of appointment. |

The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays. |
