Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To perform teaching-related duties, including conducting lectures, seminars, tutorials and laboratory work, setting and marking student assessments and supervising student's projects and fieldwork placement; |
|
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
|
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
|
(d) |
To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; |
|
(e) |
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions; and |
|
(f) |
To perform the teaching-related duties specified in the areas of CAE software, Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Design, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Mechanics of Materials, Statics and Dynamics, Electrical Technology, and other engineering subjects. |

Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised degree in Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; |
|
(b) |
At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience in relevant field and preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering as specified in the Major Duties; |
|
(c) |
Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and |
|
(d) |
A good team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure. |

Notes: |
|
(1) |
Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for the post of "Term Assistant Lecturer" at the rank of Teaching Associate. |
|
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
|
(3) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
|
(4) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus. |
