    Assistant Executive Director

    Established in 1982, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is a statutory body and the largest vocational and professional education and training (VPET) provider in Hong Kong. Through its 14 member institutions, the VTC provides valuable credentials for over 200,000 students across its 14 member institutions each year through a full range of pre-employment and in-service programmes with internationally recognized qualifications.
     
    The Council is looking for suitable candidates with right calibre and experience for two positions at the rank of Assistant Executive Director:
     
    Campus Principal, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE)
     
    Major Responsibilities:
    (a) To serve as Principal of an IVE Campus to oversee the campus overall operations, including programme planning, exhibitions and events, resources management, student admission and promotion, support to students’ learning and career development, staff developments, etc.;
    (b) To formulate, implement and review strategies and plans to promote the offering programmes/activities and brand name of the campus;
    (c) To foster and develop effective and supportive relationships with external stakeholders including local community;
    (d) To assist in formulating Council's strategic initiatives and annual plans of programmes and activities; and
    (e) 1st Post:
    To concurrently perform the role of Deputy Academic Director of Engineering Discipline (the Discipline) to assist the Academic Director in providing academic leadership for the development, validation and accreditation of programmes, establishing partnerships with industries, professional bodies and government bureaus/departments, as well as exploring new opportunities to formulate and implement strategic initiative for the development of the Discipline.
     
    2nd Post:
    To concurrently perform the role of Head/Director/Deputy of an office/unit to support central VPET and/or student-related functions, overseeing its office/unit daily operations, initiatives and development, functions and activities, stakeholder liaison, resources management, etc.
       
    Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
    Applicants should possess:
    (a) Substantial managerial experience at a senior level and be well qualified academically and professionally;
    (b) A recognised degree or equivalent, preferably with postgraduate and/or professional qualifications, and good academic / professional standing.  For consideration of candidates for 1st post, they should possess qualifications in stream(s) related to Engineering;
    (c) Good people skills, communication and presentation skills, and leadership qualities;
    (d) Ability to build rapport with trade, industry, professional bodies as well as government bureaus/departments;
    (e) Sensitivity to economic trends and business environment and ability to initiate and manage change;
    (f) Excellent command of English and Chinese languages, including Putonghua; and
    (g) Solid knowledge and experience in vocational and professional education and training, and campus and programme management are preferred.
