Major Duties: |
(a) |
To play a leading role in the planning, development and management of the discipline / operational unit to ensure efficient and smooth operations of the discipline / operational unit; |
(b) |
To assist the Academic Director (IT) in the strategic planning and development of the Discipline and any initiatives that align with the development of the Council; |
(c) |
To assist / act as the Head of Department or Planning Office of the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) to ensure effective management of the department or planning office in the Discipline; |
(d) |
To provide academic leadership in curriculum planning, design and development in the areas of Information & Communications Technology or Digital Media & Entertainment Technology; |
(e) |
To play an active role in the development and implementation of the Discipline’s initiatives including but not limited to programme planning and development, curriculum review and development, quality assurance, in-service training, facility and laboratory development, student industrial attachment, staff development, brand building, programme promotion and publicity; |
(f) |
To maintain close contacts with VTC internal departments / units and also the government, industry, leading companies, NGOs and professional bodies and associations for establishing staff development, student activities, teaching and learning, in-service training and collaborative projects; |
(g) |
To explore new opportunities, such as developing consultancy, corporate training programmes or top-up degree programmes; and |
(h) |
To perform teaching duties and/or supervise student projects where necessary. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A recognised degree and a post-graduate qualification in the Information & Communications Technology, Digital Media & Entertainment Technology, Computer Science or Electronic Engineering related discipline, or equivalent, preferably with relevant professional qualifications; |
(b) |
At least 8 years' relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility; |
(c) |
Solid experience in programme design and development, implementation of quality assurance policy, assessment and reporting, student admission, or the work areas relevant to the post; |
(d) |
Strong leadership ability, and good management, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills; |
(e) |
Good record of programme design and curriculum development at the tertiary level; |
(f) |
Good record of performing major academic and administrative functions and undertaking special / innovative / pioneering projects; |
(g) |
Good understanding of the development of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET); |
(h) |
Good networking ability in organisational development and project management; |
(i) |
Good experience in liaising with the industry or professional bodies; and |
(j) |
Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both Chinese and English, preferably including Putonghua. |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |

The appointee(s) may be required to work outside normal office hours and at different work locations as assigned. |
