    Lecturer (Computer and Data Engineering)
    Engineering Discipline

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement in the area of Computer and Data Engineering such as:
      - Extract high-dimensional data (e.g., video, images, 3D point clouds) from cameras and sensors;
      - Acquire data in IoT systems and develop/maintain data pipelines;
      - Model data and implement big data solutions on cloud platforms for engineering;
      - Compare statistical data sets using measures of central tendency and dispersion;
      - Identify technologies and architectures for big data management;
      - Apply deep learning and machine learning to solve engineering problems;
      - Apply mathematics in image processing;
      - Design AI models and algorithms to improve efficiency, reduce costs, detect events, and enable predictive maintenance in IoT;
      - Develop and managing data and analytics platforms; and
      - Implement operational amplifier circuits, etc.
    (b) To carry out duties in relation to student competition, student and academic administration;
    (c) To update and develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
    (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and
    (e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, Institute projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Computer Engineering / Data Science / Data Science and Analytics / Computer Science and Technology / Computer Software / Statistics / Mechatronic Engineering / Mathematics or equivalent, or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
    (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching experience and/or industry experience;
    (c) Experience in curriculum and training material development and instructional design is preferred; and
    (d) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
       
    Notes:
    (1) Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for the post of " Assistant Lecturer" at the rank of Teaching Associate.
    (2) The initial posting is in IVE (Tsing Yi).
    (3) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (4) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
    (5) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
