    Lecturer
    Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;
    (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
    (c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
    (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;
    (e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions; and
    (f) To coordinate and carry out seminars / conferences, competitions, visits, training, industrial attachment, campaigns and community engagement activities.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Digital Media Technology, Visual Communication, IT-related disciplines or equivalent professional qualification and proven experience, preferably with post-graduate qualifications;
    (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching experience and / or industry experience;
    (c) Strong teaching and facilitation skills in Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET), preferably in Mainland China;
    (d) Solid experience in curriculum and training materials development and instructional design in Chinese;
    (e) Solid experience in skill training on the 3D Digital Game Art of the WorldSkills competition;
    (f) Good knowledge and solid experience in game and animation development, Unity3D, 3D modeling tools and Esports technology;
    (g) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese, and Proficiency in Putonghua:
      (i) Mother tongue / language is Putonghua; or
      (ii) Received a bachelor’s degree or above of which the medium of instruction is Putonghua; or
      (iii) Have at least 3 years’ work experience in the Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
      (iv) Attainment of Grade 3B or above at the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work.
    (h) Applicants would have an advantage if they possess any of the following:
      (i) Ability in coordinating and implementing innovation & technology, special and strategic initiative projects; or
      (ii) Good records of linkage with industry / professional bodies in Mainland China.
       
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
    (3) The appointee(s) may be required to work outside normal office hours and at different work locations as assigned.
