Major Duties: |
(a) |
To support system design, development, and maintenance of web and mobile applications; |
(b) |
To assist in the maintenance and support of campus networks (LAN/WAN, WiFi), servers (including Windows and Linux), virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware), in-house IT systems and Smart Campus initiatives; |
(c) |
To provide end-user support and training on IT services and digital tools; |
(d) |
To support digitalization projects to enhance campus efficiency and user experience; and |
(e) |
To liaise with various operational units and contractors on IT services projects and to enforce the IT policies and guidelines; and |
(f) |
To assist in procurement, liaison with vendors, and inventory control of IT hardware and software. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
(i) |
A recognised degree in IT or equivalent with at least 2 years’ relevant work experience; OR |
|
(ii) |
A recognised higher diploma in IT or equivalent with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience; |
(b) |
Experience / knowledge / skills in some of the following areas will be an advantage: |

(i) |
Emerging technologies: Smart Campus tools, IoT, EdTech and cybersecurity; |
|
(ii) |
Programming: RESTful API, JavaScript, SQL, PHP, Python or NET; |
|
(iii) |
Open-source frameworks: React, Angular or JQuery; |
|
(iv) |
AV/IT integration: AV over IP, Crestron control systems or digital signage; or |
|
(v) |
Data analytics: Reporting, data mining and statistical analysis; |
(c) |
Proficiency in English and Chinese; and |
(d) |
Good interpersonal skills, self-initiative and be a good team player. |

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic/professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic/professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
(3) |
The appointee(s) may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis. |
(4) |
The appointee(s) may be posted to any operational units of the VTC, for example a campus / centre, to carry out similar duties, and have different post titles which are subject to change at the Council’s discretion. |
