The VTC offers diversified learning experiences to enhance students’ understanding of national and international development through collaborations with various educational institutions and industry partners in the Mainland and overseas regions. VTC students have the opportunity to engage in non-local industrial attachments in the Mainland and different countries, where they serve as trainees in renowned enterprises across various sectors. This real-world business exposure helps them unleash their strengths and potential, ultimately strengthening their competitiveness and career prospects. In the 2022/23 academic year, over a thousand students participated in a wide range of exchange activities with students from the Mainland and multiple countries, including, Australia, Belgium, Cambodia, Germany, Japan, Norway, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the Netherlands, and the UK. These activities provided valuable opportunities for students to learn, exchange skills, and broaden their knowledge. To deepen students’ understanding of the latest developments and opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA), the VTC launched a series of study programmes called “GBA Explorer Trip” in 2023. These activities not only broaden students’ perspectives on the social and economic development of the Mainland, but also allow them to experience local culture and inspiring their career aspirations in the GBA. VTC culinary students were invited to showcase Hong Kong delicacies at the captivating dinner event known as “Hong Kong Night” in Singapore. This event provided them with an opportunity to demonstrate their talents and passion while collaborating with other young talents from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore, creating a vibrant culinary journey. A 7-day Ideathon Challenge 2023 was jointly organised with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Japan. The Ideathon Challenge 2023 featured a range of cross-disciplinary and thematic activities, including industrial visits and collaborative projects, aimed at nurturing students’ innovative thinking and connecting them with the global community. To enrich students’ learning experiences locally, distinguished scholars and experts from the Mainland, Brazil, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK, and the US were invited to conduct master lectures and workshops. They shared their expertise and insights on the latest market trends and industry know-how. Additionally, the VTC co-organised the “Spanish Cultural Fair” with the Consulate General of Spain in Hong Kong, attracting the participation of more than 1,000 students and visitors. A photo contest titled “See the World in Hong Kong” was organised in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland. Through the medium of photography, students were able to showcase their creativity and embrace cultural diversity and harmony. 77
