    Lecturer I/II (Food and Health Sciences)

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi or Institute) offers 22 innovative degree programmes across our 6 Academic Departments, namely Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology, that are vocationally and professionally oriented and developed with significant industry input.  All programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and also accredited by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate.  THEi prepares Work Ready, Future Ready graduates through our strong applied degree and professional education programmes.  All programmes require work integrated learning (WIL) and engage students inactive learning pedagogies including a strong focus on project-based learning involving real-world problem solving with and for local industries and professions.  THEi partners closely with industry to provide intensive internship and project opportunities.  Students also actively participate in knowledge exchange activities to develop professional insights.  THEi is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation with a commitment to greening and sustainability.

    Major Duties:
    The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, cater the development of GBA new programmes, and undertake academic and administrative support services.
       
    Requirements:
    The successful candidate should have a recognised master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Health Science, Analytical Chemistry, Food and Nutritional Science, Testing and Certification as well as Chinese Medicinal Pharmacy or related fields.  Teaching experience at tertiary level in relevant fields and/or experience in professional practice in the relevant fields would be an advantage.  He/she should have good interpersonal and social skills, and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua.
         
    Notes:
    (1) The post is in the rank of Teaching Fellow I/II.
    (2) Candidates may be appointed on fractional, short-term or part-time employment.
    (3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
    (4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
