VTC is dedicated to forging long-term development partnership with industries to develop market responsive and demand driven programmes to transform human capital into competitive edge for industries.
Industry support to VTC takes the form of input on course planning, curriculum design and quality assurance, as well as scholarship sponsorships, opportunities for industry attachment and job placements. Industry representation in the Training Boards ensures the relevance and quality of VTC programmes in meeting the ever changing needs of the economy.

Manpower Information System (MPIS)
VTC assesses the manpower demand for 24 major industry sectors covering more than 80% of the Hong Kong working population. The manpower dynamics of each of the 24 industries in Hong Kong is analysed through manpower survey and manpower update in a 4-year cycle. The information obtained aims to facilitating the Government and different stakeholders of industries for formulation of manpower and training plan.
Workplace Learning and Assessment
To raise the quality of training and strengthen collaboration with the industry, VTC introduced a structured workplace learning and assessment, integrating school-based learning and workplace practice. The assessment had made reference to industry and international standards, allowing employers to assess trainee’s practical skills and their ability to utilize professional knowledge directly at workplace.
HONORARY FELLOWSHIPS
As the highest recognition conferred by the Vocational Training Council (VTC), the Honorary Fellowships are awarded to distinguished individuals in recognition of their contributions to the VTC, the development of vocational and professional education and training or the community of Hong Kong.
