    Lecturer I / Part-time Lecturer

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi or Institute) offers 22 innovative degree programmes across our 6 Academic Departments, namely Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology, that are vocationally and professionally oriented and developed with significant industry input.  All programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and also accredited by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate.  THEi prepares Work Ready, Future Ready graduates through our strong applied degree and professional education programmes.  All programmes require work integrated learning (WIL) and engage students inactive learning pedagogies including a strong focus on project-based learning involving real-world problem solving with and for local industries and professions.  THEi partners closely with industry to provide intensive internship and project opportunities.  Students also actively participate in knowledge exchange activities to develop professional insights.  THEi is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation with a commitment to greening and sustainability.

    Major Duties:
    The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services.
     
    Requirements:
    The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Digital Business; Information Technology; Digital Technology and Innovation or related disciplines, with relevant teaching experience at tertiary level and/or experience in professional practice in the related fields (at least 4 years’ work experience for the post of Part-time Lecturer). Candidates with a recognised postgraduate degree or professional qualification in law will also be considered.  S/he should have experience in supervising students’ Final Year Projects, and have high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua.  S/he must also fulfil one of the following criteria:
    (a) Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or
    (b) Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
    (c) Had at least 3 years work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions (Singapore, Taiwan, Macao, etc.); or
    (d) Achieved at least Grade Two Level B in the Putonghua Proficiency Test.
         
    Notes:
    (1) The post of Lecturer I is in the rank of Teaching Fellow I.
    (2) Candidates may be appointed on temporary or part-time terms of employment.
    (3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
    (4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    (5) The appointee will work on Chai Wan Campus.
