    Term Research Assistant I/II (Sustainable Development Capability)

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi or Institute) offers 22 innovative degree programmes across our 6 Academic Departments, namely Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology, that are vocationally and professionally oriented and developed with significant industry input.  All programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and also accredited by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate.  THEi prepares Work Ready, Future Ready graduates through our strong applied degree and professional education programmes.  All programmes require work integrated learning (WIL) and engage students inactive learning pedagogies including a strong focus on project-based learning involving real-world problem solving with and for local industries and professions.  THEi partners closely with industry to provide intensive internship and project opportunities.  Students also actively participate in knowledge exchange activities to develop professional insights.  THEi is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation with a commitment to greening and sustainability.

    Employment Period:
    12 months
     
    Major Duties:
    The appointee will support the Principal Investigator (PI) to conduct a research in evaluation of sustainable development capability. He/she will assist in literature review, patent search and prior arts analysis. He/she will also be responsible for developing an indicator system for evaluating the sustainable development capability of the Greater Bay Area, and perform other research duties as assigned by the PI.
       
    Requirements:
    For the post of Term Research Assistant I, applicants should have a recognised Master’s degree in sustainability, environment engineering and management, chemistry, or related disciplines; or a recognised degree in related disciplines with relevant work experience; or equivalent.
     
    For the post of Term Research Assistant II, applicants should have a recognised sub-degree in sustainability, environment engineering and management, chemistry, or related disciplines; or equivalent level of study.
     
    Applicants should have research experience in sustainability research and/or economic analysis. He/she should also have good interpersonal skills, as well as proficient communication skills in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
         
    Notes:
    (1) Candidates may be appointed on temporary or part-time employment.
    (2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
    (3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    (4) The appointee will work on Tsing Yi Campus.
