HKDI creates an e-Book with the
Hong Kong Museum of Art to bring the Xubaizhai works to life
The Xubaizhai Collection of the Hong Kong Museum of Art features precious paintings by great artists of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Department of Communication Design and Digital Media, HKDI, teamed up with the Museum to create an electronic book and an animation short film to present some 20 selected paintings to the audience in a lively way. These famous paintings demonstrated different genres of painters from Ming and Qing Dynasties. The e-Book and animation will be showcased alongside the “A Journey into Chinese Painting: A Selection of Works from the Xubaizhai Collection” organised by the Museum till August 2014.
|The innovative e-Book and animation were created by 19 HKDI students of the Higher Diploma in Printing and Publishing and the Higher Diploma in Digital Music and Media. With over 100 pages, the e-Book is divided into prologue, introduction to paintings and guided tours. The 6-minute animation features a love story set against a background of the transition period of Ming and Qing Dynasties.|
