Course Aims

The course aims to provide students with a practical grounding in software development and administration of computer systems in SME. Graduates will be able to develop application systems, implement and maintain distributed computer systems. The course builds knowledge from bottom-up and the content meets the needs in workplaces.

Career Prospects

Graduates may be employed as computing professionals in either the public or private sector. Graduates will begin their careers as programmers or technical support personnel with potential promotion to systems analyst positions or junior management positions in technical support.

Basic Entry Requirement

Entrance Requirements for Level 2:
HKCEE 5 subjects - Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English Language (Note 1) and , Chinese Language &Mathematics OR a pass in Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate / Project Yi Jin OR equivalent.

Notes

Applicants taking HKCEE English Language in 2006 or before should attain Grade E or above in Syllabus B / Grade C or above in Syllabus A.
A Module Value of one is equivalent to 15 curriculum hours, including class contact hours and self-guided learning.
In 2010 / 11, IVE (Lee Wai Lee) will be relocated to a new campus at Tseung Kwan O. Courses now conducted at IVE (Lee Wai Lee) will be held in the new campus or other campuses. In case of change in class meeting venue, student concerned would be notified as early as possible.
