75 students from the course of Higher Diploma in Business Promotion and Event Management worked at the Standard Chartered Marathon Expo at Victoria Park on 12 and 13 February 2001. The Expo was held to distribute the runner packs to the runners prior to the race and raise the spirit of the city before the race day on 20 February. The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon has been one of the mega sports events in Hong Kong. Some of the students will continue working on the race day to support and witness the success of the event.
Prior to the Expo, students were organized into small teams and were trained at Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA). Students worked hard at different positions at the Expo, which was run smoothly in spite of the rain on Sunday. BPEM students have shown their dedication at work and continued to win the trust from HKAAA. As a result, they have been commissioned again to execute the duties at the Expo for the fifth consecutive year.
