Dialogue with CEO of Pfizer

與CEO對話 一個與成功人士的約會

26 November 2008

On 26 November, 2008 the Department of Business Services and Management (BSM) has invited Mr. Stephen Leung, Country Manager of Pfizer Hong Kong to attend a forum with students of BSM at Tsing Yi campus.

Mr. Leung is a registered pharmacist in Hong Kong and the UK. He has more than 25 years of professional and management experience in Hong Kong and Australia. He is now the Chairman of the Chinese University, School of Pharmacy Advisory Board and is also a Council Member of the Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives, a Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Executives and the Board of Governors of the Institute for Health Policy and Systems Research (IHPSR).

In the two hours forum, Mr. Leung demonstrated his wisdom and charisma in managing his business, family and himself. Students who attended the forum were all thrilled and applauded at the aphorisms he told at the forum.

“If the number ‘two’ can be derived by ‘one’ plus ‘one’; ‘five’ minus ‘three’ or ‘10’ divided by ‘five’, there is no reason that we can only live on one single solution in tackling our problems.” He encouraged students to explore more creative solutions, open up their minds, and think creatively.

When asked the way to learn more effectively, heencouraged students to learn and work in teams instead of studying individually by using the word team. “TEAM represents Together Everybody Achieves More.” Mr. Leung urged students to emulate his company core value when studying.

“Success starts with a good habit. Start develop a good habit and continue it for at least 21 days and that will subsequently benefit your whole life.” said Mr. Leung.

Prior to the forum, a group of 15 students had undergone a five weeks training conducted by their lecturers and SAO. The training focused on improving their listening, lateral thinking, analytical thinking and speaking in confidence. Finally, three students were selected to engage in the dialogue with Mr. Leung and two other students were selected as the Masters of Ceremonies for the forum. After the forum, they all regarded the training was one of the most invaluable and fruitful learning experience at IVE.
