Objective

The general aim of the Course is to enhance the job competence of students by providing them with training in business and information systems to enable them to participate actively and effectively in promoting, facilitating and integrating information technology based systems within commerce, industry and the public sector. Because of the demand of information systems skills in the different sectors, the students can improve their promotion and career prospects after taking the Course.

    To maximize exemption for graduates in their pursuit of further academic and professional qualifications, preliminary discussions and negotiations with professional bodies and tertiary institutions in and outside Hong Kong are actively undertaken.

    The Open University of Hong Kong has granted Higher Certificate in Business and Computing graduates a block of 45 credits towards its Bachelor of Business Administration programmes. Similar exemption is being sought for Higher Certificate in Business Information Systems graduates.

    Entrance Requirements

    The minimum entry requirements are given below:

    (a) a relevant diploma or certificate from a Technical Institute or equivalent; or

    (b) for persons who do not meet the entry requirements stipulated above, they may be considered for admission as mature applicants if they have reached 23 years of age on 1 September in the year of application.
