    The department is continuously seeking recognition and exemption with professional bodies and universities both in and outside Hong Kong to maximize graduates' opportunities for further academic and professional qualifications.

    Graduates can receive the following exemptions:

      HDBIS graduates are given advanced standing of 50% of credit points towards the Bachelor of Business Administration BBA (Hons) in Accounting, BBA (Hons) in Business Information Systems, BBA (Hons) in Banking and Finance, BBA (Hons) in Corporate Administration and BBA (Hons) in Management
       
    • Middlesex University of UK
      HDBIS graduates can progress into the final year of the:
      • Joint Honours Programme for the Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems and Computing & Multimedia Technology
      • Joint Honours Programme for the Bachelor of Science in Business Information System and Information Technology

    • Oxford Brookes University of UK
      HDBIS graduates can progress into the final year of BA (Hons) in International Business Management
    • Leeds Metropolitan University of UK
      HDBIS graduates can progress into a full-time, one-year top-up degree course leading to a BA(Hons) in Business and Management. The one-year top-up degree course is offered in IVE Chai Wan campus
    • University of Northumbria and New Castle, UK
      HDBIS graduates can progress into a part-time, two-year top-up degree course leading to a BA(Hons) in International Business Administration. The part-time, two-year top-up degree course is offered in IVE Chai Wan campus
    • Deakin University of Australia
      HDBIS graduates are given advanced standing of 50% of credit points towards the Bachelor of Commerce degree
    • Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS)
      HDBIS graduates are granted Graduate Membership status. This can be upgraded to Associate Membership and Full Membership with 4 and 6 years of information technology experience respectively
    • The Hong Kong Association of Accounting Technicians
      HDBIS graduates are granted exemption to papers 1, 2 and 4 of Accounting Technician Examinations
    • Swinburne University of Technology, Australia
      HDBIS graduates are given 2 years of advanced standing towards a Bachelor Degree of Science (Information Technology). HDBIS graduates are required to complete 10 subjects for the award of the Degree. A part-time top-up programme for 10 subjects are offered in the IVE (Tsing Yi) Campus.
    • Lincoln University
      Full-time Higher Diploma and Diploma graduates are granted credits or exemptions up to 16 subjects out of the standard 24 subject degree.

    • The Hong Kong Institute of Company Secretaries
      HDBIS graduates are granted exemption to Foundation Programme (5 Modules) and one Pre-Professional module on Management Information Systems

    Entrance Requirements

    Applicants should have HKCEE Grade E or above in five subjects, including English Language (Syllabus B) Grade E/ (Syllabus A) Grade C, and Mathematics; or a pass in the Foundation Diploma (Business/Technical) / Foundation
    Certificate (Business/Technical) / Project Yi Jin or equivalent.

    Mature Applicants

    An applicant whose age will be 23 or over by 1st September in the year of application may be considered.
