提升技能 達到國際卓越水平 Elevating the skill level to international standard The biennial WorldSkills Competition, hailed as the “Skills Olympics”, is the world’s largest skills tournament promoting professional expertise and skills and raising awareness of vocational and professional education and training (VPET) in the international community. More than 1,300 talented young people from some 60 countries and regions compete in over 50 skills competitions. Students joining the tournament not only benefit from skills enhancement through the training to prepare for the tournament, but also gain valuable experience of knowledge exchange with competitors from all over the world. Through these exercises and campaigns, their skill levels are elevated and benchmarked against international standards. 兩年一度的世界技能大賽被譽為「技能界奧林匹 克」，是全球最大型的技能競技大賽，旨在提 升年輕人的專業知識及技能水平，並提高國際 社會對職業專才教育的了解。大賽每屆吸引60 多個國家及地區約1,300名選手參加，於超過 50個比賽項目中一較高下。 參加技能大賽的同學不單可以在進行訓練備戰 的過程中提升其專業技能，更可透過與來自世 界各地的選手交流切磋，汲取寶貴經驗，讓同 學的專業技能得以全面提升，達致國際級水平。 For the continuous development of Hong Kong, new teaching and learning facilities are built and international exposure is endeavoured to support and nurture young talent with 21st century competences.
