GIVING BACK 樂於回饋 “So long as it is a VTC invitation, I will say yes without thinking twice,” said VTC alumnus Taylor Yip, who is also the Operations Director of Feva Works IT Education Centre and a member of the Task Force on Promotion of Vocational and Professional Education and Training established by the HKSAR Government. Besides sharing his views on IT industry trends with younger fellow alumni from time to time, Taylor also assists with the promotion of vocational and professional education and training (VPET) and recruits VTC students. “Every year, I study the works of graduating students showcased at the VTC IT Discipline Graduation Project Exhibition with the aim of inviting potential candidates interested in IT training career to join my company. Some of the ones I recruited started out as part-time teaching assistants, but are now our full-time tutors.” “Every single opportunity matters greatly to new graduates. I hope to offer young fellow alumni more opportunities as far as I can and help them advance their careers. It may be due to my emotional engagement with my alma mater!” Alumni have different ways of contribution, but all the same, they do it out of affection and concern for their alma mater and younger fellow alumni.
