Hugo Lo, a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering student, was offered sponsorship by The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, for a one-month internship programme at Zhuguang Xincheng, a residential estate in Zhuhai. “Under the instructions of engineers there, I completed several tasks, including checking whether the steel reinforcing barswere compliant with the architectural drawings, using a reboundhammer to test concrete strength and performing concrete pouring work step by step. The experience would help my future work in engineering management.” Mr Raymond Fu, Teaching Fellow in the Department of Construction Technology and Engineering of Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), said: “Besides gaining experiences, students could also learn about the working style and technical expertise related to engineering projects on the Mainland. These opportunities enable them to understand infrastructure development in the Greater Bay Area and prepare themselves well for the future.” On top of this, Hugo grasped the chance to visit places like Hengqin and Gongbei over the weekends. “There are ongoing developments all around Zhuhai and I have been most interested in its roads and urban planning. I hope I will be given the opportunities to participate in these projects.” 就讀土木工程(榮譽)工學士課程的羅景彥獲香港中華總商會資助,到珠海珠光新城參加為期一個月的行業 實習。「在當地工程師指導下,我試過不少工作,包括檢查鋼筋是否符合圖則,使用回彈儀測試石屎的強 度及有序地做好落石屎的工作等,這些經驗對我將來做工程管理很有幫助。」 香港高等教育科技學院(THEi)建築科技與工程學系特任導師傅仕偉先生說:「同學吸取經驗之餘,也可了 解國內工程的工作方式及技術,並藉此機會了解大灣區的基建發展,為將來做好準備。」景彥更把握周末 休假到橫琴和拱北等地方參觀,「珠海周圍都在持續發展中,而我對其道路和城巿規劃就最感興趣,希望 有機會參與其中。」
