    Head of Information Technology Services

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers over 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. These programmes integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring that students can apply what they learn effectively. THEi’s undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. By adopting an applied Science-Oriented teaching approach, THEi equips students with professional skills and knowledge to meet various future challenges upon graduation. THEi also collaborates closely with the industry and engage students in active learning pedagogies including a strong emphasis on project-based learning involving real-world problem-solving with and for local industries and professions.

    Major Duties:
    (a) To assist senior management in overall development, implementation and enhancement of IT policies and projects;
    (b) To lead the IT team in liaising with various operational units to understand their IT needs, perform feasibility and requirement studies, develop and implement cost effective solutions;
    (c) To initiate and oversee the project management of new Enterprise Resources Management system in Student Admission, Administration and Records, Library and other systems to revamp/upgrade the services;
    (d) To supervise the preparation of tenders, conclusion of contracts with third-party vendors, monitor performance of vendors and ensure compliance with the Institute standards;
    (e) To lead process reengineering, change management and system integration to achieve synergies and cost savings;
    (f) To manage the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from various applications; and
    (g) To provide data driven analysis reports to senior management for strategic planning and decision making.
       
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualifications;
    (b) At least 7 years’ relevant work experience at supervisory level in the IT field, preferably including 5 years in system development and /or project management of major IT systems;
    (c) Advantage will be given to applicants with proven records in network design, tender, implementation, IT project management, enterprise infrastructure, data network, software systems, and / or applications development for tertiary institutions;
    (d) Good administrative, inter-personal, teamwork and organizational skills;
    (e) Proactive attitude, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently and effectively; and
    (f) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
         
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of Manager.
    (2) Applicants are required to provide detailed information by outlining their specific technical expertise, and previous development projects and roles in the projects in their curriculum vitae.
    (3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
    (4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    (5) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
