Mr Kent WONG possesses a wealth of experience and expertise in the jewellery industry. Mr Wong was honoured with the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the “JNA Awards 2020” (now renamed the Jewellery World Awards). He was awarded the title of “Best CEO” by Institutional Investors 2024 Asia (ex-Japan) Executive Team Rankings in the Consumer/Discretionary sector; recognised as “Best IR by Chairman/CEO” by the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association in 2023; and has also been named “Asia’s Best CEO (Investor Relations)” by Corporate Governance Asia, an authoritative regional journal on corporate governance, at its Asian Excellence Awards in 2024.
Mr Wong actively participated in industry and community services. He had been a Council Member of the Hong Kong Management Association, Chairman of the Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Supervising Committee of the Hong Kong & Kowloon Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Employees’ Association, Permanent Honorary President of the Kowloon Gold, Silver and Jewel Merchants’ Staff Association, and Board Member of CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation.
Mr Wong has always been very supportive in nurturing VPET talents. Under his leadership, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery (CTFJ) has made various donations to the VTC through “Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarship”, “Design Education Fund”, and “Solar Car Project”, benefitting different VTC students. CTFJ has shown support for creative design education and established an incubation hub to nurture young jewellery design talents. Graduates from the VTC have benefited from its “Design Residency Programme”. Furthermore, the company served as a venue sponsor for the Hong Kong Design Institute and Youth College to hold jewellery exhibitions and showcase students’ award-winning products.
Mr Wong is enthusiastic about providing numerous internship and training opportunities to VTC students, demonstrating his unwavering support for student development throughout the years. CTFJ has been offering internships for VTC students at its production hub in the Mainland since 2017. Additionally, CTFJ provides training in both the Mainland and Hong Kong to the winners of the “WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition”.
