VTC Shining Alumni Cross-disciplinary and creative thinking skills are clearly important for success. Jordan Cheng, an alumnus of the VTC, has turned creative ideas into reality. As a graduate with a Higher Diploma in Engineering, Jordan developed a strong interest in IT and multimedia innovation during his studies. In 2009, he returned to his alma mater as a lecturer of Electronic and Information Engineering. Under his guidance and mentorship, his students have cultivated their innovation skills and knowledge through participation in cross-disciplinary projects. These skills have enabled them to excel in over 20 competitions, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Hong Kong Competition on Cloud Computing Applications. In addition to passing on his knowledge and experience to students, Jordan also advanced in his own career. In 2012, he started his own business, which has since become a top five mobile application development company in Hong Kong with affiliate offices in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Singapore.
