GUANGDONG Zhaoqing Dongguan Shenzhen Hong Kong Zhuhai Foshan Zhongshan Jiangmen Macao Guangzhou Huizhou The Greater Bay Area The Greater Bay Area refers to Mainland China’s scheme to link the cities of Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, Jiangmen, and Zhaoqing into an integrated economic and business hub. Through talent development and industry collaboration, the VTC fully supports the initiative to make Hong Kong a smart city that is positioned as an innovation and technology hub in the Greater Bay Area. The VTC has established a long standing partnership with Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT) in various areas including the offer of a dual award programme, as well as organising student and staff exchanges, competitions and VPET forums. To support the VPET development in the Greater Bay Area, the VTC and the SZPT have jointly established the Greater Bay Area VPET Collaboration Working Group in 2019 to further explore collaborations in the establishment of a vocational training centre, joint programme offers and strategic student and staff exchange activities.
