Digital Skills Information and digital technologies are embedded in almost every activity or work process in our daily lives. In the digital era featuring big data and artificial intelligence, the way that people perceive and interact with the digital world has resulted in massive connections and a fundamental shift in user experience. The connections involve people, processes and activities, devices and platforms, and content and information across the globe to deliver innovation and services. Also, there are huge demands for enhancing user experience. The VTC is preparing students to be digital citizens by continuously enhancing and upgrading its VPET programmes. New curricula in data science and analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, financial technology, cyber security, cloud computing, and the latest creative technologies including AR, VR and MR have been developed and offered. Information and digital technologies change rapidly. In addition to the relevant IT knowledge, focus is also given to the necessary digital skills that industries require. The elements of computational thinking and information fluency, creativity and innovation, and communication and collaboration are also built into the entire curriculum to allow VTC graduates to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Through classroom learning, industrial attachment and active participation in collaborative projects, students are able to apply their IT knowledge, exchange and construct ideas, and develop solutions to address problems at work. Language Abilities English is widely taught as a second language around the world. The VTC has devoted substantial resources and effort to support and promote English learning and English-language proficiency of students. 64
