Skilling for the Future (2020 Update)
As new technologies emerge such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and Internet-of-Things, there is an increasing need to ensure that the existing workforce is able to upskill in order to work with new technologies and help businesses make the most of every opportunity. Supported by the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the Graduate Enhancement Training Scheme offers VTC Higher Diploma IT graduates the opportunity to apply in the workplace the new technologies they have learned during their studies by working in two or three large corporations for two years. While technological changes will generate new opportunities, the key to this is having the right skills for the new economy. Lifelong learning is an effective way to stay relevant and competitive as new jobs or jobs with new skills will emerge more quickly than ever.
