39 Innovation and creativity are essential attributes for students to rise to the massive challenges of the knowledge-based economy. The VTC has stepped up its efforts to drive innovation in applied research and entrepreneurship. Cross-institutional Online Platform Technology-enhanced learning is one of the major VPET trends in the 21st century. Funded by the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme, Hong Kong’s first open online learning and teaching platform ‘VPETCity’ was established by the VTC in collaboration with The Open University of Hong Kong, Caritas Institute of Higher Education and Caritas Bianchi College of Careers. This platform provides students, teachers, service providers and the public with an open online platform to exchange and use VPET learning and teaching materials in the areas of Hotel and Catering, Health Care and Community Services, Business and Management, and Servicing. DRIVING INNOVATION 推動創新 為應對知識型經濟帶來的挑戰, VTC 亦協助學生發展於應用研究的創新能 力與企業家精神。 跨院校共享網上平台 將科技融入教學是 21 世紀職業專才教 育的一大趨勢。在「質素提升支援計 劃」的資助下, VTC 與香港公開大學、 明愛專上學院及明愛白英奇專業學校 合作,推出全港首個網上學與教資源 共享平台--職專教育城。學生、老師、 工商機構及市民可透過該平台,交流 及共享職業專才教育的教材和學習資 源,資料涵蓋酒店及餐飲、醫療保健 及社會服務、商業及管理、服務四個 範疇。 推廣應用研發 2018/19 年度,香港高等教育科技學 院( THEi )獲多個研發計劃資助合共 港幣 720 萬元,供進行不同研發項目 並舉辦教學活動。 THEi 亦推出 Innov8 初創培育計劃, 鼓勵學生運用創意,開創事業。 Promoting Applied Research In 2018/19, THEi received research grant awards totalling HK$7.2 million from various funding schemes to conduct research and organise educational activities. To encourage entrepreneurship and help aspiring students fulfil their ambitions, an Innov8 Enterprise Start- up Programme for THEi students was launched. The programme offers a variety of support services to incubatees, helping young graduates to develop their ventures.
