51 New Facilities for Smart Learning Providing high-quality facilities to facilitate smart learning is one of the building blocks for the VTC’s success. VTC STEM Education Centres were established on the Tsing Yi and Chai Wan campuses of IVE and the Kowloon Bay campus of Youth College in 2017. Making use of VR and AR technologies, the Centres provide students with simulated workplace training on campus. The Centres also collaborated with our industry partners to produce a STEM VR Career Experience app, giving local young people a taste of different occupational tasks and skills. Further advanced facilities will be established to respond to the latest industry developments. The Building Information Modelling Innovation Hub (BIMiHub), targeted to be operational in the last quarter of 2018, will provide professional training on BIM as well as stimulating innovative solutions on practical BIM applications. The aim is to form a knowledge centre for providing BIM training, facilitating collaboration and co-creation between industries and VTC students. Development of other new facilities including Innovation & Technology Co-creation Centre and Cyber Security Centre is also making good progress. 嶄新設施支援學習 以科技促進學習是 VTC 的一項重要優勢。 在 2017 年成立的 VTC STEM 教育中心， 分別設於 IVE 青衣院校、柴灣院校及九龍 灣青年學院。各中心善用虛擬實境和擴增 實境技術，在校園提供模擬實境培訓。中 心更與業界合作設計 STEM 職業 VR 體驗應 用程式，讓年輕人動手嘗試不同工作的所 需技能。 我們會因應行業最新發展繼續加強裝備。 2018 年第四季將會成立 BIM 創新中心， 提供建築資訊模型的專業培訓，鼓勵研發 創新方案，期望成為知識中心，推動相關 培訓，並加強業界與 VTC 學生之間的協 作。 我們亦將成立科創中心和網絡安全中心等 設施，繼續提升教與學。
