45 Meeting the Special Needs of Young People The VTC is committed to providing equal access to VPET for all students. In 2017/18 academic year, over 500 non-engaged youths participated in VTC’s Vocational Development Programmes. In collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, around 330 residents of the Tuen Mun Children and Juvenile Home were provided with tailor- made VPET programmes. For students with special educational needs, we continued to offer programmes to about 600 full-time and 450 part-time students respectively through the Shine Skills Centres. Separately, about 1,500 students with special educational needs were enrolled in various pre-employment programmes offered by other VTC member institutions. The VTC also equips non-Chinese speaking students with vocational and professional skills for their further development. In 2017/18 academic year, some 700 non-Chinese speaking students enrolled in about 20 dedicated full-time and part-time VPET programmes to cater for their various training needs. 照顧特殊學習需要 VTC 致力為學生提供平等的職業專才教育 機會。在 2017/18 學年,超過 500 名有 意進修的待學待業青年參加 VTC 職業發展 計劃。我們又與社會福利署合作,為屯門 兒童及青少年院提供職業專才教育課程, 培訓約 330 名學生。 我們透過展亮技能發展中心為有特殊教育 需要的學生提供培訓,約 600 名全日制學 生及 450 名兼讀制學生入讀。此外,約 1,500 名有特殊學習需要的學生就讀 VTC 其他院校的不同職前課程。 VTC 同時為非華語學生提供適切的職業專 才教育。我們為非華語學生開辦約 20 個 全日制與兼讀制課程,滿足不同需要, 2017/18 學年約有 700 人入讀。
