44 Enhancing the Reach of VPET in the Secondary Education Sector To help students appreciate the value of VPET and plan ahead for their future studies and careers, the VTC actively promotes VPET in the secondary education sector through various community outreach programmes. These initiatives include Applied Learning (ApL) courses, taster programmes and career planning activities, covering various areas of study. In 2017/18 academic year, over 2,100 Secondary 5 students took part in ApL courses, gaining useful glimpses into VPET and their career aspirations. In addition, some 440 talks were arranged in over 250 secondary schools, outlining a range of study opportunities for secondary school students. 中學外展推廣 VTC 舉辦多個社區外展項目，積極向中學 生推廣職業專才教育，例如不同專業範疇 的應用學習課程、課程體驗班、生涯規劃 工作坊等，幫助學生了解職業專才教育的 價值，及早規劃升學和事業發展。 2017/18 學年，超過 2,100 名中五學生 修讀應用學習課程，親身體驗職業專才教 育，探索事業志向。我們亦走訪逾 250 間 中學，舉行約 440 場升學講座，為中學生 介紹不同升學選擇 。
