42 VTC Earn & Learn Scheme Referencing the best practice of German and Swiss dual-track models, the VTC introduced the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme in 2014. With the support of Government and industry, the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme offers quality VPET to young people while training new blood for the development of Hong Kong industries. Over 3,500 young people have since benefited from the scheme. The scheme is further extended to cover the aviation sector in 2018/19 academic year, to meet emerging industry needs. In the light of the positive feedback of the scheme, the Government has supported to regularise the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme from 2018/19 academic year onwards. As well as offering the Earn & Learn Scheme, we launched a new dual-track Diploma in Engineering (Air-conditioning and Refrigeration) in September 2017. This four-year programme combining classroom study and on-the-job training develops students’ professional expertise required by the industry. The VTC also administers apprenticeship schemes that offer school-leavers valuable choices to receive systematic workplace training and equip them with the competence and skill needed for their professional development. During the year, over 2,300 participants joined the apprenticeship schemes which cover some 70 trades. Besides, since the introduction of the Traineeship Scheme for the hairdressing and beauty care industries, over 700 trainees have been admitted as at 31 March 2018. VTC Earn & Learn 職學計劃 借鏡德國和瑞士雙軌制教育的成功經驗， 我們在 2014 年推出 VTC Earn & Learn 職學計劃。計劃得到政府和業界支持，參 加計劃的年輕人學習職專知識的同時，亦 可獲取行業經驗。自計劃推出以來，已有 3,500 多名年輕人受惠。 2018/19 學年起，計劃擴展至航空業， 協助培育業界所需人才。有見計劃反應理 想，政府落實由 2018/19 學年起將 Earn & Learn 職學計劃恆常化。 我們在 2017 年 9 月亦開辦新的雙軌制工 程文憑課程（空調製冷），課程為期四年， 除了課堂學習，亦會安排職場培訓，培育 行業所需人才。 VTC 亦管理各項學徒訓練計劃，讓他們 接受有系統的職場培訓，培養從事不同 行業的專業技能和實力。年內，有超過 2,300 人參加遍及約 70 個工種的學徒訓練 計劃。 此外，「美容及美髮業見習員訓練計劃」自 推出以來，截至 2018 年 3 月 31 日已取錄 超過 700 名見習員。
