41 The future work world will be in a state of constant change and will thus require acquisition and updating of competencies. To prepare students to flourish and thrive both now and in the future, we have continued to expand our programme offerings, foster multi- disciplinary collaborations, advance innovative education and further internationalise our campuses. New Programmes for the New Economy In the year under review, we introduced a number of new Higher Diploma (HD) programmes to address Hong Kong’s changing skills demand. These included HD in Digital Marketing, Special Child Care and Inclusive Education, Visual Design for Journalism, Environmental Engineering, Aviation, Data Science and Analytics, and Stage and Live Entertainment Technology. Our degree-awarding THEi also commenced offering new programmes including Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Testing and Certification and Professional Diploma in Building Services Engineering. To provide secondary students with alternative pathways and more flexibility in pursuing higher education locally or overseas, we have introduced new Vocational Baccalaureate (VB) programmes in engineering and design. The broad-based curriculum and skill-based training of the new VB programmes will equip students with vocational skills and general competencies paving the way for their further studies and career development. Interdisciplinary Collaborations The rapid development of innovative technologies is changing today’s business environments and our daily lives. Recognising the need to develop expertise and nurture young talent to better address the complex and interconnected environmental issues faced by the world today, we set up the Interdisciplinary Unit as a collaborative platform to drive the integration of knowledge, skills and advantages from different disciplines and professional areas, and thus help develop new interdisciplinary programmes. Four full-time interdisciplinary HD programmes are offered in 2018 in the areas of financial technology, public relations and digital communication, arts and cultural event management, and music and digital entertainment business management. These programmes feature work-integrated and project-based learning through collaboration between different disciplines. 職場發展日新月異，因此不斷學習、更新 知識與技能至為重要。為裝備學生迎接挑 戰，開創前路，我們不斷拓展新課程和服 務，加強跨學科合作，推動創新，並建立 更國際化的校園。 開辦新課程配合新趨勢 配合人力市場需求，我們開辦了多個新高 級文憑課程，包括數碼營銷、特殊幼兒照 顧及融合教育、新聞視覺設計、環境工 程、航空學、數據科學及分析、舞台及娛 樂科藝，培養不同範疇的專才。 提供學士學位課程的 THEi ，亦推出檢測和 認證（榮譽）理學士、屋宇設備工程專業文 憑等新課程。 我們亦推出新的職專國際課程，設有工程 及設計兩個專業，為中學生提供本地或海 外的新升學出路。職專國際課程不單提供 技能培訓，亦全面涵蓋通用技能，畢業生 日後選擇升學或就業皆有穩固基礎。 跨學科協作 隨著科技發展，營商環境和生活面貌不斷 轉變。面對複雜多變的環境，年輕人須發 展廣泛多元的知識技能。為此，我們成立 跨學科發展組，提供協作平台，推動不同 學科及專業範疇加強合作，匯聚知識、技 能及優勢，並發展新的跨學科課程和協作 項目。 在 2018 年，我們開辦四個全日制跨學科 高級文憑課程，涵蓋金融科技、公關及數 碼傳訊、藝術及文化活動管理、音樂及數 碼娛樂產業管理等範疇。課程著重工作綜 合學習和專題研習，充分應用所學。 SKILLING SMART TALENT 培育智慧專才
