Prof Jackson HO Yee-tak, PhD, MH was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Secretary for Labour and Welfare Mr Matthew CHEUNG, GBS, JP at Graduation Ceremony 2013

Prof Jackson HO has over has over 40 years’ experience as an engineer and an entrepreneur. He started as an apprentice in the transportation industry and was Managing Director of six international corporations in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore before his official retirement in early 2013.
 

Prof Ho is a member of the China National Standardization Technical Committee for Air Cargo and Ground Support Equipment, and is Founding President of the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association, Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Airline Service Providers Association and Vice Chairman of The Federation of Automobile Services Industry Hong Kong. Prof Ho holds Fellowships of SAE International – USA, the Institute of the Motor Industry (UK), the Institute of the Road Transport Engineers (UK) and the Society of Operations Engineers (UK). He is Adjunct Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Visiting Professor of the Bulacan State University.
 

Prof Ho is a member of the Election Committee of HKSAR representing the Transport Constituency. Over the past 20 years, he served key positions in public services relating to transportation, including Chairman for Automotive Skills Upgrading Scheme Assessment Group, Member of Automotive Industry Training Advisory Committee, Member of Technical Review Panel for proposal to implement enhanced enforcement measures against emission from in-used vehicles, Chairman of Expert Panel for the Assessment of Emission Reduction Devices for Vehicles, Members of the Road Safety Council, Transport Tribunal and the Steering Committee for the Pilot Green Transport Fund, as well as a specialist of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications. He is also the past President of The Hong Kong Automobile Association and the past Chairmen of the Motor Sports Council Hong Kong, the SAE International – Hong Kong, The Institute of Advanced Motorists Hong Kong, The Institute of The Motor Industry Hong Kong and the Airline Service Providers Association.
 

Over the past 25 years, Prof Ho has dedicated himself to the VTC in various fronts. He has been serving as External Examiner for the VTC since 1988. He has taken up the Chairmanship for Jockey Club Heavy Vehicle Emissions Testing and Research Centre Steering Committee, after being the Honorary Advisor of the Centre for eight years. He is a long serving member of the Engineering Discipline Advisory Board since 2007, and was Chairman of the Programme Board of Higher Diploma in Electrical and Mechanical Services and External Member of the Engineering Course Board. Prof Ho was also a member of the Course Committee and External Examiner for the Road Traffic Accident Reconstruction Course for Police Officers and for the Motor Vehicle Engineering Courses in IVE (Lee Wai Lee). Prof Ho has previously participated in Programme Validations and Discipline Review by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications for the Engineering Discipline in the VTC.
 

In 2002, Professor Ho was awarded with the Medal of Honour by the Hong Kong SAR Government in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the community.
