Honorary Fellowships

Mrs Agnes KOON WOO Kam-oi is Chief Executive of KSY Speciality Limited and is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, with over 35 years of insurance experience. Mrs Koon was formerly the Chairperson of Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI), and was a founding member and previous Director and Chief Operating Officer of Falcon Insurance Company (Hong Kong) Limited. She was awarded ‘2017 Outstanding Business Women’ by the Hong Kong Commercial Daily, and ‘Top One Hundred Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs in China’ in 2007 by the China Association of Women Entrepreneurs.
 

Mrs Koon devotes herself to various community and public services, including memberships, for example, in Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Advisory Committee, ICAC Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Relations, and China Overseas Friendship Association Executive Committee. She is Deputy Chairman of the Court of Lingnan University, Member of the Election Committee of the HKSAR Government on the Chief Executive Election, 13th National People’s Congress Representatives Election Committee, and Hong Kong Representative to the Beijing Municipality of the All China Women’s Federation. Mrs Koon was awarded Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government in 2017.
 

Mrs Koon is a staunch supporter of vocational and professional education and training and the VTC. With Mrs Koon’s effort, the Young Insurance Executive Development Programme by the HKFI (2015) was launched in association with PEAK. Being a key member of the Government’s Steering Committee on the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Insurance Sector, Mrs Koon entrusted PEAK as the Secretariat to implement the key initiatives under the Pilot Programme. Besides, Mrs Koon has been Chairman of the Insurance Training Board (INTB) since 2013, and has led INTB in advising various aspects of manpower development of the industry, and convened the Working Party on Manpower Surveys for the INTB. In 2016, 2017 and 2018, the Insurance Summit, jointly organised by the INTB and PEAK, were attended and well received by over 900 leading industry leaders and practitioners.
 

Mrs Koon’s staunch support to the VTC were also found in major events like the VTC 35th Anniversary Tribute Dinner, as member of the Organising Sub-committee, WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition in 2014 via corporate sponsorships, and in advising curriculum design of various vocational and professional education programmes.
