Mr Felix BIEGER is an Adviser at The Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH), the Honorary Chairman of Les Amis d’Escoffier Society and former Chairman of the Hong Kong Hotels Association. A Swiss native, Mr Bieger is a prominent figure in the hotel industry, a veteran with more than 60 years of hotel experience. Throughout his half-century career with the HSH, Mr Bieger had assumed different positions, from a Chef to the General Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong, the flagship property of the HSH.
 

Mr Bieger has given tremendous support to the development of hospitality education and training in Hong Kong since the early days of the Technical Institutes. Currently an Adviser of VTC’s Hotel, Catering and Tourism Training Board, he has provided expert advice in assessing the manpower demands of the industry, in course planning, curriculum development and quality assurance in response to industry requirements. He has also solicited support from hoteliers and industry professionals and provided invaluable input to the latest training hotel project of the Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC), from feasibility study, project planning to design of the training facilities. He was also an Honorary Adviser of the English-Speaking Dining Society of the HITDC & Chinese Cuisine Training Institute.
 

Mr Bieger has rendered tireless support to VTC in the provision of hospitality training programmes. During his tenure as Chairman of the Hong Kong Hotels Association, Mr Bieger has strengthened the collaboration between the Association and the Hotel, Service and Tourism Studies (HoSTS) Discipline. HoSTS students gained wide exposure in the hotel industry through diverse placement opportunities referred by the Association. As an active member of Skal International Hong Kong, Mr Bieger has solicited support from the organisation’s Rudy Choy Scholarship Fund to provide HoSTS students with scholarships for the past 15 years.
