Honorary Fellowships

Ir Paul POON Wai-yin is the Managing Director of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power) and holds overall responsibility for the operations of the Hong Kong business, which includes a vertically integrated electricity utility serving the 5.8 million population in Kowloon, the New Territories and Lantau of Hong Kong.
 

Ir Poon possesses more than 36 years’ experience in the power industry. He joined CLP Power in 1981. Since then, he had held various management positions in Transmission Projects, Technical Services, Change Management, CLP International, Regional Operations, Asset Management and Power Systems. Ir Poon is also the Chairman/Director of a number of subsidiary companies and affiliated companies of the CLP Group.
 

Ir Poon has rendered tremendous support to the VTC. For over 30 years, CLP Power has been in close collaboration with the Council in implementing the apprenticeship training scheme, offering support such as donation of cash and equipment for the development of laboratories and workshops, as well as providing training opportunities to students and teachers. Training workshops of the Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre and Chinese Cuisine Training Institute also received major sponsorships from CLP Power. Recently, VTC engineering students benefited from scholarships from CLP Power and associated opportunities for industrial attachment in the company.
