Ir CHIANG Tung-keung was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Secretary for Development, Mr Michael WONG Wai-lun, JP

Responsible for the operations of a vertically integrated electricity utility serving customers in Kowloon, the New Territories and Lantau Island, Ir CHIANG Tung-keung is also a Director of various subsidiary companies and affiliated companies within the CLP Group.
 

Ir Chiang is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He is also a Member of the HKSAR Government’s Engineers Registration Board and the Steering Committee on the Promotion of Electric Vehicles chaired by the Financial Secretary.
 

Under Ir Chiang’s leadership, CLP Power is on the path of decarbonisation and digitalisation to bring a cleaner, smarter power supply to Hong Kong, while combating the challenges of climate change and technology disruption. At the same time, CLP Power supports the community to improve the wellbeing of people in need.
 

With Ir Chiang’s support, a number of joint programmes have been launched in collaboration with CLP Power that enable VTC students to develop professional careers in power engineering. For instance, CLP Power worked closely with VTC in contextualising Smart Grid applications in pre-employment and in-service training programmes and offered scholarships and awards for VTC students. CLP Power also supported other VTC initiatives, including the promotion of electric cooking at the Chinese Culinary Institute and International Culinary Institute, the World Solar Challenge, WorldSkills Competitions and the establishment of the CLP Power Engineering Laboratory at Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Haking Wong) in April 2021. The laboratory leverages innovative technologies and advanced training facilities to nurture power engineering talent through structured, multi-disciplinary and well-recognised professional training.
