34 Enriching Workplace Learning Through Industry Collaboration Workplace learning is a core component of VPET, enabling students to apply their skills in real-life settings and gain valuable industry exposure. With strong support from industry partners, students benefit from practical training, professional insights, and career-shaping feedback. To further strengthen this dual-track approach, the VTC will increase its mandatory industrial attachment requirement to 100 hours for Higher Diploma programmes starting from the 2025/26 academic year, allowing students to build stronger career experience and industry connections early in their study journey. Reinforcing Lifelong Learning The VTC continues to demonstrate strong impact in the area of lifelong learning by addressing the dynamic upskilling and reskilling needs of the workforce while supporting evolving manpower requirements across key industry sectors. Serving over 200,000 learners annually, the VTC will set up a centralised CPE Office to consolidate expertise, streamline policy, and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration across member institutions in offering structured, one-stop life-long learning support for aspired working individuals. The Institute of Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK) offers Continuing Professional Development programmes designed to meet latest market demands, regularly updating its offerings for professionals in banking, financial services, insurance and property management.
