22 Market-driven IT Skills Education In the 2024/25 academic year, HKIIT offers 13 full-time HD programmes and Diploma of Foundation Studies (DFS) programmes to 2,100 students, including the new HD in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and DFS in Digital Media Studies, alongside 8 part-time HD programmes. Going forward, a new HD programme in applied AI, along with DFS programmes in Drone and Entertainment Technology and Esports Technology, will be rolled out in the 2025/26 academic year in response to manpower needs in corresponding digital industry streams. “SkillsUP”, the strategic inservice training initiative of HKIIT, has garnered significant interest from industry practitioners and employers, underscoring its impact in bridging skills gaps and fostering lifelong learning.
