13 Championing Lifelong Skills Development Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) serves as a cornerstone in our strategy to align workforce skill sets with evolving industry needs, and broaden pathways for lifelong career development. Over 200,000 CPE training places are offered by VTC annually across member institutions and diverse subject areas, contributing to the upskilling and reskilling of Hong Kong's workforce. Going forward, a dedicated CPE Office will be established to consolidate expertise and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration across the VTC. This office will proactively identify skills gaps, co-ordinate resources and industry partnerships, and optimise programme offerings to maximise impact and synergy. Through this centralised approach, VTC will enhance its capacity to address evolving workforce demands while capitalising on growth opportunities in Hong Kong’s expanding CPE sector. Moving Forward United The year 2025 marks a significant milestone as it concludes my tenure as Chairman. It has been my great honour to lead the VTC since 2020, witnessing its many milestone developments, such as the launch of Mainland operation centre and the establishment of Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT). My six-year tenure as VTC Chairman has been deeply fulfilling. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to past and current Council Members, as well as the entire VTC management team and staff for their dedication and contributions. I also wish to thank the Government and our partners from all around the world for their unwavering support.
