Since 2007, the VTC has taken its first step in making environmental considerations a key priority. In 2022, the VTC established the Corporate Environmental and Sustainable Development Office (CESDO) to oversee the environmental and sustainable development of the Council with primary focuses on green campus development, environmental sustainability and environmental education and promotion. The Committee has been established to proactively oversee the implementation of policies, procedures and measures and review health and safety incidents and hazards, while maintaining VTC’s operations in compliance with legal requirements and VTC's policies. Under the Committee, the Carbon Neutrality Plan Working Group and the Smart and Green Campuses Working Group have been set up to deal with specific areas of development.
